Our Vision

“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” – Lao Tzu, between the 4th and 6th century BC (some think)

This quote summarizes the vision of the Easy Garden, which is a revolutionary, solar-powered, computer-operated hydroponic garden that can yield a significant amount of fresh produce for anyone who desires an edible garden but wants most of the maintenance of it automated. Most of us live lives that leave little time for growing our own food, yet the benefits of the nutrition yielded from locally grown fresh produce is undisputed. We believe Easy Garden could be the answer to this quandary. The sustainability speaks for itself as the machine requires no weeding, watering, or digging; it is powered by the sun, uses 90% less water than traditional farming, uses 70% less fertilizer than traditional farming, emits zero emissions, utilizes permaculture concepts to naturally balance minerals and PH, and allows almost complete control of the nutritional content of the produce grown. Also, under normal conditions, barring flooding, there is almost zero fertilizer run off, which is known to damage reefs and fisheries.

We acknowledge that there is a collective consciousness around keeping our diets clean, and that we must all take some responsibility for lowering the carbon footprint. Globally, people are already adopting practices that move us toward greater sustainability. Our vision is that Easy Garden will contribute, to euphemistically teach a man how to fish, one community at a time.
