How big is the GrowBot?

The GrowBots are 2×3 feet and you need about 5 feet by 4 feet of space to comfortably have one.

What does the GrowBot come with?

When you order your GrowBot it arrives with everything you need to start growing, including your first round of seeds and nutrients.

What kinds of fruits and veggies can it grow?

The GrowBot can grow strawberries, canteloupe, watermelons, pumpkins, squash, peas, carrots, beats, onions, chili peppers, eggplants, all kinds of potatoes, and just about everything else…

How many plants can it grow?

The 8 grow bags on the GrowBot can grow a minimum of 8 big plants, with smaller herbs all around the sides, to maximize space and yields.

What do the plants grow in?

The plants grow inside of “grow bags.” The grow bags sit on top of the water tank, and they are each filled with a material called Perlite, which is like puffed sand. Perlite is non-toxic and hollow, making it great for wicking up the nutrient-rich water so it gets to the roots. You can plant seeds right on top of the perlite. Perlite lasts for up to 3 years (so you don’t have to keep buying.)

How do I set it up?

Some assembly is required, and we offer free video tutorials and phone support (including via Facetime) while you’re doing it. You only need approximately 30 minutes to set it all up.

Can it work indoors?

Yes, but water can spill, so make sure the floor has a drain. If you don’t get 6 or more hours of direct sunlight, you can install grow lights. (We have free instructional videos that can help you with this.) If you don’t have an indoor hose, you can refill the water manually.

How does it water itself?

The water tank has a water sensor that can tell if the GrowBot needs more water – when it does, it automatically triggers your hose to add more water into the system.

How does it feed itself?

The smart camera takes a picture of the entire growing area – that picture is then analyzed by our patented AI to determine how much nutrients to feed the plants. The nutrient tank has pumps inside and a hose, for mixing and distributing nutrients into the water stream, so your plants get the food they need to grow.

How does it work?
